What does a Decontamination Cleaning Technician do?

You'll provide decontamination and removal procedures for contaminants such as asbestos (training and qualifications will be provided), mould, fire, flood, biohazards, methamphetamine, and lead.

• Clearing houses of biohazard waste and debris.

• Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, laundries, and kitchens contaminated with biohazards and/or mould.

• Remove biohazards from underneath houses.

• Operate commercial vacuums and drying equipment.

• Remove and/or clean contaminated vinyl, carpet, and other materials.

You'll learn to read, understand, and complete on-site Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) and Asbestos Removal Control Plans (ARCPs).

Work Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (depending on the job), with some overtime and after-hours callouts on a rotational basis, including weekends. You are guaranteed a minimum of 30 paid hours per week, but typically you will work 40 hours.
